Stocked Parts
Leslie's housing stock centers on 1947, older than the 1954 median across the wider Jackson service area. A door built in that window was almost never original torsion-spring hardware from the factory - a lot of these houses got extension springs mounted along the horizontal tracks, or a torsion conversion bolted on later by a previous owner or a handyman. That matters when a spring lets go at 6am, because the two systems don't share parts. Our truck carries both extension spring sets and torsion bar hardware in the sizes that turn up on 1940s single and double bays, plus the older style hinges and rollers that don't match what's sold in a big box store today. We also carry a stock of standard torsion springs sized for the lighter wood and early steel doors common on houses this age, since a mismatched spring is the single most common callback we see on older stock. What we don't carry on the truck is anything custom-cut for a door someone's already modified with non-standard track - that gets measured on site before we order.
